>>>>>>FINAL COST WILL BE AROUND $310 (incl. processing) for a whole lamb and approx. 40 lbs of meat (1/2 that for a half lamb) - THIS IS AN ESTIMATE ONLY<<<<<<
Our fall lambs are born around Dec/Jan of each year and are harvested in late Aug/early Sept, 8-9 mos. later. (You will get an e-mail with the exact harvest/processing date then, your order will be available 1-2 weeks after that date)
This harvest comes from Katahdin hair sheep or a mix of Doper/Katahdin which we refer to as Kadorpin. Both breeds offer a very mild, flavorful meat without the awful lanolin/wild game taste that wool lambs are usually notorious for. The Katahdin lambs are leaner and will weigh approx. 70lbs at harvest time. The Kadorpin lambs are a bit stockier and will weight approx. 85lbs at harvest. Please note if you have a preference for a leaner or stockier lamb when placing your order. Yield will be approx. 40% of live weight but varies based on your custom processing order.
Once you place a deposit, you will receive e-mail notifications and reminders throughout your wait time (from deposit through harvest/meat collection).

Depending on the breed, a pork will finish out at various weights - we have seen them as small as 200lbs and as large as 350lbs at time of processing. A pork will yield a little higher than a beef or lamb at as much as 70% of its live weight. >>>>>>FINAL COST WILL BE ANYWHERE FROM $750-1,225 (incl. processing) for approx. 140-245 lbs of meat (1/2 that price for a half pig) - THIS IS AN ESTIMATE ONLY<<<<<<____
There is a misconception that a pork is smaller than a beef but, on our farm, they are about the same. However, being omnivores, their diet is mostly grain fed (from non-gmo and organic sources) and very little pasture or hay. We do not raise pastured pork; instead, we keep our pigs in a pen to cultivate one concentrated area - we raise them in a different location each season.____

Our spring lambs are the late births from our younger mother ewes (too young to give birth by January) and are born after the majority of the herd lambs in January. They arrive anytime between Feb - May and, therefore, we give them a little extra time to finish out making them avail. to harvest the following spring (March of each year) - you will get an e-mail with the exact harvest/processing date then, your order will be available approx 2 weeks after that date - timed to arrive before Easter)

Stew Roosters-WholeGrower: Green Family Farms
Price: $14.00 ( 1 ea.-whole )Available (Estimated): 0
Limited availability. Harvested Nov., Jan., and March of each year - please refer to harvest schedule in Q&A section.
We keep a few roosters to hatch out replacements in our egg flocks. But, sometimes we find ourselves with too many. So, we add these to the batch for processing when our fryer birds are processed. We offer these birds at a discount because they are old (usually 1-2 years old) and we have already gotten the rest of the payout in the form of their services for replacement chicks. Some do not like these birds because they are mainly suited for stews and long roasting but, others prefer them because they are really "slow grown" which makes them exceptionally tasty.

Young Fryers - WholeGrower: Green Family Farms
Price: $38.00 ( 1 ea.-whole )Available (Estimated): 3
Limited availability. Harvested Nov., Jan., and March of each year - please refer to harvest schedule in Q&A section.
We grow a limited quantity of meat birds and offer them for sale three times a year, in rotation with other meat products we raise/grow.
These are slower growing red broilers that reach 4-7lbs in 12-14 wks. (not the typical fast growing white cornish (as pictured on the label - which was the only label available, sorry!) processed at 6-8wks, readily available in most other markets). The meat of these birds can be fried, baked and stewed regardless of their identification as “broilers” which is the current lingo for meat chickens. Since they are a meat breed, they are not suited for egg production.
Note that placing an order is a commitment to purchase. Should an order be placed without following through with payment, we retain the right to refuse that buyer future purchases of our products. Remember, we are a family farm extending the fruits of our labor to you, please offer the same courtesy by following through with your order.:)
This order is for a whole, plucked, cured, packaged and frozen whole birds. This is for the bird only - we may have feet and edible organs available upon request (no charge) with orders of more than 6 birds.
